I had a head operation (2016)

This photo-essay deals with the idea of language as our access to the world, refering to Wittgensteins aphorism The limits of my language mean the limits of my world. The fragmentary photographs add up as a narration of a person strolling an unknown coast city: we see various places, find left objects and unknown signs, encounter natural and human traces and meet strangers. The center of the narration forms the encounter with an unknown person who suffers from aphasia, a condition which causes speechlessness. Within the story the sympton becomes a metaphor for personal moments, when finding the right language for what one desires to express fails.
